Chicagoans consider Antioch for both summer and winter recreation. The Chain O' Lakes, an Illinois State Park situated along the Fox River, features abundant fishing, boating and other summertime leisure activities. In the wintertime, cross country skiing and snowmobiling are popular activities.

Besides the Chain O'Lakes providing a myriad of attractions, the Antioch Fine Arts Gallery, a not-for-profit institution that is staffed by member volunteers, displays the work of area artists. The village's PM&L Theatre on Main Street has thrived for over 40 years, producing well-attended plays and musicals.
